History

In the spring of 2002, a group of experts from different fields got together with the aim of creating a concert experience as authentic as possible, collected from various concerts of Elvis Presley in the early 1970s. Just as if you were actually watching the king of rock in Las Vegas. Every, even the smallest detail was carefully explained, thought out and implemented, what was seen and heard on stage. However, with the difference that the artist Jussi Andelin did not try to imitate or imitate Elvis’ singing voice in any way, because he knew it was an impossible task to be believable and thus did not want to spoil the otherwise wonderful performance.

In March 2003, it was time for the premiere in Järvenpää at the Sibelius hall. It was a year of practice, about 200 times in total, two short practice concerts at the events of the partners. The filming of YLE’s documentary also ended with this premiere. YLE and its work groups had been following the work group and the completion of the project for more than half a year. You can watch the 28-minute long documentary here.

The tour in the concert halls of Southern Finland in the spring of 2003 was a success. We often performed to sold-out halls. Upon request, we organized three additional performances in February 2004 at the Savoy Theater in Helsinki.
